Before, Denise's program, I had the classic stress tummy. With four young children, I get little time for myself. Plus, my husband works days, Monday through Friday, and I work nights and weekends part-time to make ends meet. Because of my busy schedule, I got into an unhealthy pattern of being tired, eating poorly, feeling tired from the bad food, and then not exercising because I was too tired. I have a genetic tendency to gain weight in my stomach and upper thighs, so my bad habits manifested themselves as fat in those areas.
I have been a relatively thin person throughout my life, so the extra 10 pounds I was carrying in my tummy and thighs weighed heavily on my mind. I have a long torso, so one-piece bathing suits never fit me correctly; instead, I was forced to wear a bikini with shorts over it to hold in my belly and thighs. I used to be constantly embarrassed about my stomach.

I had two motivations for losing my tummy. First, I was tired of being ashamed of my appearance I simply wanted to look better. Second, I did it for my health. I have learned to enjoy new foods I never thought I would like papaya, mango, or kiwifruit, but they are delicious!
